HOW MUCH OIL SHOULD I TAKE?
If you are not working with a recognized Cannabis Medicine Practitioner
or Rastafari Medicine Woman or Bush Doctor, then this is where personal
responsibility is of paramount importance.
The most
responsible thing to do is educate yourself and if it is possible to open
dialogue on the topic of Cannabis medicine with your doctor or health care
provider then definitely this is the first point of call. If this is not an
option then you must ensure that the person you obtain the oil from is at least
a Cannabis Medicine Practitioner who is affiliated to a reputable organization or
is referred to you by someone you can trust. The truth is there are many people
making various Cannabis medications but you need to be aware of who you are
dealing with in terms of your health because ultimately you may be putting your
trust in another human who really is no more qualified than yourself.
If you have never used Cannabis before it is essential to start on the
smallest possible dose gradually building up to increased dosages. Your body will need to naturally adjust to
the stimulation and activation of your Endocannabinoid System (EC system) which
usually is only felt after the first three to four times of taking it, whether
inhaling or ingesting, where after you will start to feel the effects which is
a different experience for everyone.
THC is the most well- known of all the Cannabinoids
and the most psychoactive part of the Cannabis plant.
THC, more than any other Cannabinoid is associated
with the majority of the pharmacologic effects of Cannabis, in other words,
without THC most of the other Cannabinoids would not occur or function in its
absence. With CBD dominant oils the THC will naturally be lower because the CBD Cannabinoid greatly reduces the THC effect.
This is the main reason why the pharmaceutical
industry is struggling to produce synthetic Cannabis medications. All research
evidence steers toward the fact that Cannabinoids do not work as effectively in
isolation compared to working with whole herbal Cannabis. New evidence is now
suggesting that in the absence of THC the CB1and CB2 receptors of the EC system
would not in fact even activate.
It is critical to have an understanding of the effects
of psychedelic substances on the human brain and in this respect we must strive
to gain the personal responsibility to respect our dosage because truly only
tiny amounts of Cannabinoids is required to sustain optimum health.
It is also very important to be
aware that the chemical profile of Cannabis
has changed drastically over the past 30 years.
It is true that these days some modern Cannabis contains more than double the amount of THC as it did back
in the flower power 1960’s and as a result of this these modern strains tend to
contain far less of the neuro-protective Cannabinoid discussed below CBD.
It is also a reality that growers
who selectively breed high THC strains are also selecting against the gene that
produces CBD, which means that in the pursuit to produce stronger Cannabis some growers may actually end
up out breeding a chemical which is responsible for the wellbeing of our
health. This is exactly why I encourage people who need Cannabis for medicinal purposes to grow their own. It is false freedom where you are not in
control of the production of your medicine and you do not know for sure what is
in it or where it comes from or how it was grown. It is the exact same story as
with our food unless it is coming out of your own garden you really do not know
where it comes from and in my opinion this is the very reason we are seeing
more and more, sick people; we have lost touch with where our food comes from.
It cannot be stressed enough that so
much more research is required in this field of study and factors like growing
customs limit our ability to fully interpret findings and to make
generalizations about CBD and THC administration on psychotic symptoms, and
indeed there are researchers who claim to be achieving positive healing results with
“CBD only” extracts.
THC definitely has the ability to alter behavior, mood perception and
consciousness and often promotes the meditation of sharing, humor, creativity,
and feelings of euphoria.
The healing properties of THC include anti-cancer, anti-nausea, pain
killer, appetite and metabolic regulation, anti-spasm, anti-inflammatory,
muscle relaxant, anti-microbial, neuro-protection,
anti-oxidant and so many more which you should research in your own time.
Many experts also now believe that the
psychoactive properties of Cannabis are most likely to only be short lived and
in fact do not pose any risk of long term brain damage.
“Most ‘drugs of abuse’ suppress neurogenesis. Only Cannabis promotes neurogenesis” – Dr
Xia Zhang (Canadian researcher)
It is a good idea
to speak to people who have used Cannabis to get an idea of what to expect
because no two people are alike and no two Cannabis plants are alike. and in fact no two buds on the same plant have the exact same chemical make-up. In my experience no two cancer patients are
alike and no two epilepsy patients are alike and so on. Unfortunately most conventional
medical practitioners do not know very much about the healing properties of
Cannabis because they have never studied this field before so eventually ii do
see a scenario where doctors will be learning about Cannabis from their own patients.
Personally ii do
spend a lot of time speaking with the doctors of patients and recommending
dosages for various medical disorders working with my raw Cannabis coconut
extracted oil. Sadly ii also spend a lot
of time speaking with people who ‘over dosed’ either themselves; their parents, their children or their pets. Nothing is sadder for
me than meeting parents of an ill child and they are so desperate to save their
child’s life and they really do not know how to administer this medicine. When ii meet with these people the first
thing ii see is the tremendous guilt which they are carrying and ii just wish
to say to anyone who has been in this situation please do not crucify yourself
rather spend this energy educating yourself on how this amazing plant works on
the human brain, body and soul, the community and beyond.
Personally ii only
use coconut infused Cannabis oil for children as ii find the full extract is
often too strong but this of course is dependent on individual assessments. We
are having good results with low THC strains which are clearly higher in CBD
and the CBD oil is often times more appropriate for pediatric treatments. In
reality Cannabis is only for healing it does not do any harm and even if some
people believe this the truth is that there is no scientific proof of this and
certainly there are no recorded deaths ever. In order to 'overdose' a human needs to consume its entire body weight in 24 hours which is basically impossible.
It gives us huge hope that more and more doctors today
are becoming aware of the medicinal healing properties of Cannabis and everyone
should be urged to discuss this momentous matter with their health care
practitioners to find the best solution for your personal medical disorders. It
really is quite possible for conventional and natural medical practitioners to
work together for the healing of the nation.
WHAT IS MAINTENANCE
DOSING?
Through the
teachings of my Elders and Masters ii have come to accept the theory of ‘minuscule dosing’ to prove that Cannabis works on the principle of
minuscule measures which means that only tiny amounts of Cannabinoids are
required to maintain a healthy and fully functional EC system.
This theory then
applies to mental, physical and spiritual well- being. Currently ii am working
with patients in this field who are like myself, are in their 20th
year and beyond cancer free. One patient is down to a mere 6 leaves a day
ingested raw as a maintenance dose and another is consuming an equal amount of
seeds daily and they are both super healthy in their 60’s and 70’s respectively.
Consuming raw
Cannabis, either by juicing or straight off the plant, as opposed to oil and smoke
inhalation is another not so new theory but it is not a theory of mine but
there is certainly a lot of truth to the fact that consuming raw Cannabis is
just as effective in healing and maintenance doses than any other heat
application process. A lot of people will argue that you cannot feel the high when consuming raw Cannabis but the truth is that both humans and animals can get high from eating the raw plant and obviously this is dependant on the quantity taken.
Many people might
be surprised to learn that many followers of Rastafari in fact do not even
smoke Cannabis but simply regard the Holy Herb as another life giving
vegetable.
If you have read my
previous papers about the EC system then you will realize that in fact we are
supposed to consume Cannabinoids for optimum health whether you are ill or
healthy and just like your immune system needs vitamins and other supplements
so too your EC system needs Cannabinoids to perform its functions. So at the very least Cannabis really ought to be reclassified as a necessary nutrient.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN FULL EXTRACT AND REDUCED EXTRACT?
According to the professionals Cannabis extracted
with alcohol or butane or distillation is referred to as “Full extract” and
Cannabis extracted with coconut oil for instance is called “Reduced extract”
oil. The difference between my medicine and any 'reduced' extract is that ii cook my medicine for 18 hours and ii use whole herbal Cannabis and not a concentrated oil made by someone else with unknown solvents.
So it is important to note that this 'reduced extract' is made from the full extract where my recipe calls for the use of raw Whole Herbal Cannabis extracted over an 18 hour period not exceeding the smoke point of coconut oil which is 171 degrees Celsius so at 100 degrees and less it cannot produce any dangerous fumes because it will not create smoke or carbon at this temperature. So personally ii refer to my medicine as Full Cannabis Coconut extract because ii am working with whole raw Cannabis and not simply adding a little oil extracted with another solvent into the coconut oil.

You can experiment with this
by frying two eggs one in normal yellow oil and one in coconut oil and you will
notice that coconut oil does not produce the brown grease rim around the egg which
is the ‘bad fat’ part of the oil working out and the black residue is the
carbonated oil which is toxic.
Above is the egg fried in coconut oil and below are eggs
fried in normal sunflower oil.
For me personally
the main difference in these methods is firstly unlike other methods, coconut
oil extraction is 100% natural and only the Cannabinoids are extracted and not
the chlorophyll parts of the plant material.
Chlorophyll concentrate in Cannabis oil has produced some
cases of diarrhoea and upset gastric systems which are common side effects of
chlorophyll. In less vulnerable patients they might feel brief spells of
queasiness which is also the action of the chlorophyll. This does not happen
when using coconut oil because the chlorophyll is not stripped in the
extraction process and second coconut oil is not readily absorbed into the
gastric tract it enters the liver where it is stored as energy and not fat.
So my recipe is
similar to the one in the Bible in Exodus 30 verse 22 – 25 where you will read that
olive oil was used instead and also left to soak with no heat for long periods
of time to produce the holy anointing oil.
The second main difference is the psychedelic action of THC
which is higher in the full extract oil and this can often lead to ‘over
dosing’ where the patient can clearly feel that they are ‘high’. With coconut extracted oil you do not
experience such a strong THC action although many of my patients say they sleep
very well after their night dose but they do not get the ‘high’. It is my
personal belief that the reason for this is that coconut oil is on average 96%
saturated fat, the human brain is 60% fat and Cannabinoids are fat soluble so
this holy trinity of fats work like a Swiss clock in the human brain effectively
dispensing the work of the EC system throughout our bodies. Coconut oil is also very effective in aiding the body to absorb anti-oxidants which are necessary in the fight against free radicals which cause cancer and other diseases.
Really it is all
about establishing the tolerance of your own EC system. We are all different
and changing all the time so sometimes a certain dose may be too strong and
sometimes the patient does not report feeling any difference. Respecting
yourself and respecting the healing power of the Cannabis plant by educating
yourself is the most important gift you can give to your family.
Will keep in touch. Thanks for your contribution. Very interesting reading.
