A human beings we were never
designed to cope with the levels of stress that we are subjected to in this day
and age.
First of all, stress affects us on a hormonal level and
this leads to the actual blocking of our receptor system including the
Endocannabinoid system (ECS) that is the master control system of all of our
physiological systems within the human body. Stress is therefore considered a
major endocrine disruptor in human beings.
Not only does stress block our receptors but it also
inhibits receptor expression, making any level of healing almost impossible to
achieve when the body is a state of stress. When receptor expression is
inhibited this is what leads to the progression of cancer growth in the human
body. Stress also inhibits the cancer fighting functions of anti-angiogenesis, apoptosis
and autophagy in the human body. [1]
In Hong et al, published in the Journal
Frontiers in Oncology, the scientists note in their abstract that:
“Repeated chronic stress increases the risk of
a variety of diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, depression, endocrine
disease, inflammation and cancer. A growing body of research has shown that there is a link between
chronic stress and tumor occurrence in both animal studies and clinical
studies. Chronic stress activates the neuroendocrine system
(hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis) and sympathetic nervous system. Stress hormones promote the
occurrence and development of tumors through various mechanisms. In
addition, chronic stress also affects the immune function of the body, leading
to the decline of immune-monitoring ability and promote the occurrence of
tumors. The mechanisms of
chronic stress leading to tumor include inflammation, autophagy and epi-genetics.
These factors increase the proliferation and invasion capacity of tumor cells
and alter the tumor microenvironment.”
Stress also negatively impacts anti-angiogenesis
treatment in the fight against cancer
Anti-angiogenesis treatment blocks the formation of blood
vessels that give tumors their life. When the human is under chronic stress
these types of medications no longer work as effectively and this leads to the
spread of cancers.
Stress not only causes many different types of cancer but it
is also the number one catalyst to the increase in mental health conditions
that we are witnessing at this time because stress makes everything worse for
human beings. [2]
But possibly of greater concern is the way in which
stress eats away at our vitamin B resources and this leads to all kinds of problems
involving insufficient blood oxygen due to insufficient production of red blood
cells that carry oxygen in our blood. This is how conditions like neuropathy, brain hypoxia,
brain fog and chronic fatigue syndrome manifest.
It is a lifestyle disorder brought about by intentionally
created stress, negativity and the consumption of harmful and neuro-toxic
chemical substances found everywhere on earth, in our environment, our food,
water, soil, medications, everywhere, no one can escape these toxic substances
not even at the North Pole. These are poisons that we all have to endure.
All
cause brain damage in one or another form, and this is why we are seeing such
an increase in people suffering from neurological conditions. [3]
Fortunately in Cannabis we have a plant companion that
can offer us the means to inspire and motivate ourselves, so we may properly
re-build our self-esteem and learn to love ourselves again, and in so doing,
end this ongoing depression and insecurity of the human condition. When it
comes to mental health, no matter the origin, the important thing is that we
can prove that Cannabis does offer anti-psychotic, neuro-genetic,
anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic healing properties. [4]
In my 40 years of working with this plant I have
identified 9 ancient ‘secrets’ that contribute towards and explain the
miraculous healing properties of Cannabis medicine that I will love to share
with you in this paper.
There is a
profound connection between plants and humans, and we must realize and
recognize that as human beings we have practically evolved with Cannabis since
the beginning of time.
The Human Companion Plant can enhance life and help to deliver people
from disease, pain and suffering, as it has been doing for thousands of years
already.
Far too many people have died unnecessarily because of lack of access to
Cannabis. If only we had listened earlier; so many more lives could have been
saved.
SECRET NO 1 ~ THC IS ONLY FOUND WITHIN THE CANNABIS PLANT
There
are two major reasons why human beings need Cannabis, and why Cannabis is a real
medicine.
First, is that all human beings have a biological system of receptors
known as the ECS inside our bodies that requires the active cannabinoid known
as THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol Delta 9 THC) to activate and modulate the Endocannabinoid System.
THC is only found in the Cannabis
plant unlike the many other plant cannabinoids that are found in a variety of plants in the world.
Second, is, that all human beings produce a chemical known as Anandamide
that is the scientifically known as the human version of THC because they are so similar.
There is very little THC or CBD in the raw
plant material
It doesn’t matter how
potent a Cannabis strain may be, the truth is there is only trace elements of
CBD and THC in the raw plant. You can test this by chewing on some raw leaves
and buds and you probably won’t feel anything. On the other hand some people
are so sensitive that they could experience a “high” from cannabinoid-acids.
All cannabinoids
found in Cannabis originate from the ‘mother-cannabinoid’ known as CBGA. As
plants mature unique enzymes convert CBGA into the 3 main
cannabinoid-precursors namely CBDA, THCA and CBCA.
When THCA is converted by the decarboxylation process (heat and light) THC
is found abundantly in female plant material with the highest concentration in
the trichomes of the flowers. THC is also found in male Cannabis plants
although in much lower concentrations. However, plants grown in the hot African
sun can test higher for CBD and THC content because the sun has had time to
directly heat plants. In this way natural sunlight does encourage CBD and THC
production within the plant.
If you have ever
spent a day in an African or Indian Ganja-plantation you will know all about
this “plant-high’. In nature even plants grown for hemp can increase THC levels
if they become stressed by the sun. THC is the plant’s natural ‘sunscreen so
when exposed to hot sunlight, THC levels increase to protect the plant.
This means that the
current THC limits permitted in ‘hemp plants’ are grossly underestimated and
frankly a joke. At these levels we might never get any hemp industry started in
Africa. The ultra-violet rays from the African sun are far too high for our
farmers to operate within the proposed legal agenda. [5]
People
use Cannabis to feel better, to eat better, to sleep better, to be pain free,
to relax and to be less stressed. These are all genuine medical conditions
which we know Cannabis can cure.
On a spiritual level people also use Cannabis
to become the type of person they feel they really want to become, because for
the majority of people, Cannabis can make them feel the way they want and need
to feel.
The amazing thing is
that the acid version of THC has the exact same healing properties, but without
the high
The proof of this fact
is the hard-to-believe healing people are achieving just by juicing the raw
Cannabis plant. People are healing themselves from various cancers just by juicing the raw plant.
This is possibly the most preferred method of consuming
Cannabis today, for people who don’t smoke or don’t want ‘the high’. [6]
It is now well established in the medical journals that
both CBDA and THCA have been tested and found to more potent than CBD and THC.
In one nausea study CBDA was found to be 1000 times more potent than CBD. And
THCA was found to be 25 times more potent than THC in nausea studies.
“As
with acute nausea, both CBD and CBDA reduce anticipatory nausea in this
pre-clinical model by a 5-Ht receptor mechanism of action, with CBDA about 1000
times more potent than CBD. Neither CBD nor CBDA interfered with motor activity.
Given that these compounds are non-psychoactive, future clinical trials with
human patients are gravely needed as there are currently no specific treatments
for anticipatory nausea in humans.” [46]
In Issue 170 and Volume 3 of
the British Journal of Pharmacology published in October 2013, the authors
evaluate the anti-nausea effects of THCA and discovered that the acid version
of THC is more potent than the cannabinoid itself.
“Therefore, THCA appears a
more potent anti-nausea treatment than THC, even though it is not psychoactive. Additionally, it is unlikely that the
anti-nausea effects of THCA in our models could be due to the metabolism of
THCA into THC, given that the equivalent dose of THC is ineffective.
Furthermore, when plasma samples were analyzed, no detectable levels of THC
were present, only THCA. This evidence discounts the possibility that the
effects were due to conversion of THCA to THC.” [47,48]
SECRET NO 2 ~ ONLY THC BINDS TO THE ECS RECEPTORS
As a young herbalist my Rastafari teachers used to refer
to the ECS as “The THC Receptors” and
their explanation was because ONLY THC actually binds to these ‘Ganja receptors
in the brain”. I always wondered how my Masters from the 1980’s had come by
such knowledge since I could never find much information in books and
encyclopedias in those days.
One of the best research papers I have read on the actual
structure of the ECS receptors is written in a paper titled “The Crystal Anatomy of the Human CB1
Receptors.” You can tell whether a scientific paper might be enjoyable or
not, and you can tell from the title!
The Chinese students speak about “Exceptionally deep
binding pockets that appear complicated and expansive compared to other lipid
(fat) binding receptors.” They state that these receptors “have larger surface
areas and numerous sub-pockets and different networks to other areas of the
receptors.”
So you can tell from this in-depth paper that the THC receptors are
no ordinary receptors. Only THC from the Cannabis plant has the necessary
deep-binding affinity for these unique receptors. [7]
SECRET NO 3 ~ CANNABIS CONTROLS THE ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
This is one of the greatest secrets of how this medicine
works so effectively. Hormonal imbalances are very often the root-cause of so
many diseases including the so-called ‘auto-immune’ diseases. And so often
these hormonal imbalances go by unnoticed, untested and ultimately untreated.
Cannabis and the ECS controls the activities of our
Hormone System
When hormones are unbalanced, cells are unable to
function properly and can even affect how our genes and DNA is expressed.
In my book I state that Cannabis is the "Plant Whisperer" of human DNA, because this ongoing transmission to our DNA through the control
of Cannabis over our hormonal system is proving to be the ultimate antioxidant
to protect our cells in order to achieve healthy cell production and
development throughout our lives.
I am convinced that this is the biological reason why Cannabis has healed every type of cancer that it has been tested against.
Cannabis can offer us protection
against all types of cancers, neurological conditions, and brain damage. [8, 9]
Hormone disruption can lead to so many medical conditions
for example: pain, inflammation, insomnia, cancers, diabetes, thyroid
conditions, obesity, anorexia, hypertension, Fybromyalgia, headaches,
neurological conditions like epilepsy and Altzheimer's Disease and dementia. Parkinson’s
disease, autoimmune diseases, conditions of the nervous system like neuropathy
(small and large fiber), cholesterol, muscular diseases, liver disease,
vascular disease, heart disease, kidney and renal tract disease, gut diseases, osteoporosis,
depression, stress, anxiety, and the big one - vitamin D deficiency.
This medical truth, that the
ECS controls the Endocrine system, has helped us to understand some of the
mechanisms by which Cannabis is able to heal so effectively.
This is why Cannabis can help
us to enjoy a good night of sleep, and how this amazing plant can help us to
overcome many of life’s stresses that we all endure today. [10]
Stress and sleep deprivation
are two of the biggest causes of all medical conditions, so you can see how a
lot of diseases start off due to a hormonal problem. Scientists are now
pursuing studies involving the role of Cannabinoids in hormone release in the
treatment of fertility problems, mood and anxiety disorders, and metabolic
processes such as thyroid function, as well as symptoms of autism.
All of these
processes are controlled by our hormone system which is controlled by our EC
system, and which needs plant-derived cannabinoids from the Cannabis plant for
supplementation. [11]
Knowing that we have a Cannabis-dependent
system within each one of us that is responsible for the well-being of all our physiological
systems surely makes us realize that Cannabis has the most profound effect on
the human body, mind and spirit.
SECRET NO 4 ~ RECEPTOR EXPRESSION
The entire Human Receptor System is as unique as your
fingerprint and the iris of your eyes. This means that receptor expression is a
subjective experience and unique to each individual, so there are about 8 billion Endocannabinoid systems on the planet today.
This is
one of the main reasons why Cannabis medicine will never be a ‘one size fits
all’ treatment because one cannot standardize individual treatment plans for 8
billion unique systems that need Cannabis to survive.
There is only one place in the body where there are no ECS receptors....
One of the most remarkable observations about receptor
expression is that there are no ECS receptors on the cardiac and respiratory
cells of the human brainstem.
This is one of the reasons for the high safety
margin of Cannabis medicine and the very reason why no one has ever died or
overdosed from this natural whole herbal plant medicine from stopping to breathe or from their heart stopping, and never will.
Some people over-express ECS receptors and may be more
sensitive to THC and others under-express and are less sensitive and need
higher doses
Receptor Expression also highlights the protective role of the ECS...
There are research results in
liver cancer studies that show that patients with liver damage had a higher
expression of cannabinoid receptors in their liver tissues than healthier liver
patients.
A higher expression of EC receptors in a certain region indicates where the healing is needed...
I have this little test I do whenever
the opportunity arises, which is often! Around a table I will randomly ask if
anyone has a headache or any kind of pain or nervous issues.
I then offer the oil and ask the person to gently dab a little oil on the exact
location of their pain or shakes so either on their forehead, their temples or the
back of their neck are common application spots and people with spasms and shakes will apply a few drops on the hands and arms
After seven minutes most people have found relief and people with the shakes stop shaking!
At any site of injury in the body when
neural or non-neural cells in the tissues are injured and damaged, there will
be a localized up-regulation in the expression of our cannabinoid receptors in
that exact location.
So, for example, if there is a pinched nerve in the neck,
the body will naturally increase the amount of cannabinoid receptors in the
precise location where the pain is felt. The ECS requires cannabinoids from the
Cannabis plant to effect healing.
This means that local application of Cannabis
oil is highly effective for pain relief, and many other medical conditions.[12]
Wherever there is illness or
injury in the body, the cannabinoid receptors will increase their expression in
that exact location, as they wait to be activated by cannabinoids to effect
healing, not only systemically but also locally.
This is why sick people need Cannabis to supplement their EC System and ensure healing, and healthy people need the plant to prevent illness [13]
In order for receptors
to function they need either to be activated or not be activated. Some cannabinoids
act as activators of receptors and others as inhibitors, while others act as
indirect or partial agonists and modulators of the activities of other cannabinoids.
We must accept
that the ECS is a delicate biological system that works completely differently
from any other system we have known or might know
Scientists
struggle to understand how Cannabis heals because a big part of receptor
expression involves the fact that the plant and the biological ECS has dual
healing purpose, which means it can do anything as is required. It’s a bold
claim but the evidence speaks volumes.
This is why Cannabis appears to offer
healing for almost any condition, and delivers positive results in the shortest
space of time with minimal side-effects. This is not a magical illusion this is
real live healing that the plant has been offering to human beings for
thousands of years. [14]
What does ‘Duality of Cannabis
healing’ mean?
One of the mysteries of
Cannabis medicine is the hypothesis of dual-healing-purpose. This two-fold
healing ability of Cannabis and specifically THC ensures, for example, that
Cannabis can both increase and decrease blood pressure in different
individuals.
It can induce clotting of the
blood when needed, and it can also thin blood out. It can both stimulate and
suppress the appetite. It can both block and unblock receptors. Cannabis can
act as both an agonist as well as an antagonist of any cannabinoid receptor and
certain others as well. These are things that no other medicine can do. Another good example of the duality of Cannabis
medicine is how the Cannabinoid CBD is able to regulate the psychedelic
effects of the activity of THC. [15]
Another amazing example of receptor expression is how
Cannabis cures Glaucoma…
In 1978 Peter Tosh in his album titled Bush Doctor Peter Tosh declared that “It’s the only cure for glaucoma”,
referring to Cannabis. Almost forty five years later people are only now
starting to realize that this is actually the truth. Today we know that there
are more cannabinoid receptors in the eyeball than in the rest of the brain,
including the visual cortex in the brainstem. So, a patient with glaucoma will
have a raised expression of cannabinoid receptors in the eyeball compared to
the visual cortex of the brain.
This increased expression of EC receptors in the eyeball proves that healing takes place locally, within the retina, instead of within the visual cortex of the brain...
There is a very interesting study published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology in
2004. The study found that, unlike other conditions treated by Cannabis,
glaucoma does not rely on the effect of the cannanbinoids on the central
nervous system.
This is due to the over-abundance of cannabinoid receptors in
the retina of the eye. Again, this suggests that healing is taking place within
the actual eye and the increase in cannabinoid receptor expression in the
retina is proof of this.
The true medicinal worth of Cannabis in treating
glaucoma and other eye conditions lies in the fact that the efficiency of
Cannabis is localized.
This also confirms that relief for glaucoma can also be
gained from topical applications of Cannabis medicine, for example eye drops.
Cannabinoids increase the blood flow to the eye and deliver cannabinoids
directly to the eye for repair. [16]
Here is a quotation from Doctor Sunita Radhakrishnan, MD
who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma at the Glaucoma Centre of San Francisco. She is
also Research Director at the Glaucoma
Research and Education Group in San Francisco.
“The fact of the matter: The only
way to treat glaucoma is to lower IOP, and an effective way to lower IOP — according
to literally hundreds of anecdotal patient testimonies and volumes of research
studies dating back 45 years — is to consume cannabis via smoking,
vaporizing,
eating,
or sublingually as a tincture.
For some patients who have failed lots of treatments, [Cannabis] is
the only thing that keeps them from going blind.” [17]
In my opinion, identifying receptor expression is
the future of curative and preventive medicine, because simply put, if a healer or doctor could identify
Cannabinoid receptor expression then they would immediately know where to
target the healing, instead of simply treating symptoms. [18]
SECRET NO 5 ~ RETROGRADE TRANSMISSION
Plant derived cannabinoids as well as our own naturally
produced endocannabinoids are the most numerous of all neurotransmitters. All other neurotransmitters move from the post-synaptic cell forward to the pre-synaptic cell
(control is at the post-synaptic cell) but cannabinoids and endocannabinoids work in reverse, moving from the
pre-synaptic cell backwards to the post-synaptic cell (control is at the
pre-synaptic cell).
It is interesting to note that THC & THCV can move in both directions! This means that
Cannabis and the ECS can literally control what happens ‘next’ at cellular
level and this is why doctors are baffled at how quickly and effectively
Cannabis can heal virtually any condition!
When any cell is under attack,
the ECS receptors immediately kick into action, but it communicates its
messages in a unique way because it essentially works in reverse. This is
referred to as ‘retrograde transmission’
where the neurotransmitters attach themselves to the receptors on the
pre-synaptic neuron, and move backwards to the post-synaptic neuron. No
other receptor or neurotransmitter can do this. All other neurotransmitters in
the human body (except Nitric oxide) move forward, from the post to the pre-synaptic neurons, and not
the other way round. [19]
The importance of this is that
cannabinoids can act on pre-synaptic cells, and they can also control what
happens next when these cells are activated.
This is another explanation for
the miraculous healing abilities of humanity’s healing herb. Because of this
unique feature, the ECS moves backwards, but is actually in the future, and can
affect the future at cellular level. This is in my opinion what makes Cannabis
the future of modern medicine. [20]
SECRET NO 6 ~ THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT
The reason why the actual
plant cures more effectively than synthetics is that ‘The Entourage Effect’ is present in the whole herbal plant. This is
the botanical understanding that all of the plant’s chemical components must be
present in the recipe.
All of the different
Cannabinoids and terpene profiles, terpenoids and flavinoids together are
involved in the healing process, and they all have to work together to achieve
the magical healing properties we have come to know and respect, from whole
herbal Cannabis.
We must all realize that CBD and THC are only a part of the equation. The concept of the Entourage Effect comes from the Hebrew
University in Israel from the laboratory of Professor Raphael Mechoulam. It
describes how all of the chemical compounds of the plant must work together in
harmony to create the total of all the plant parts, which then combine to
create the magical and mystical healing powers of the human companion plant. [21]
The Entourage Effect is the natural combination of hundreds of known cannabinoids,
as well as hundreds of other chemical components which together produce the
specific natural effects of whole herbal Cannabis. There are even terpenes and
terpenoids of which over 200 have already been identified. They also mimic the
actions of cannabinoids, and also have their own special healing powers, so
no-one really knows the true number of chemical components within the Cannabis
plant.
SECRET NO 7 ~ THE SETTING OF INTENTION
Cannabis works on the principle of intention, meaning
that we are to respect the plant by stating our purpose for consuming Cannabis
and what type of healing we are looking for each time.
This has to do with the
patient’s mindset before using Cannabis and can result in incredibly powerful
healings as though healing really did come from the mind.
My Rastafari teachers have instilled huge respect upon
this plant and every time that we consume any part of our sacred herb we set
intention by way of prayer and the ritual in which we clean the herb and separate
the seeds from the flowers. And in this way we pay respect to the Creator for
providing us with such a healing plant of renown that earns the right to be
loved, respected and praised.
In the setting of intention before consumption we each
develop our own unique and special relationship with the human companion plant.
In 2021 I received the following review that showed me
that the reader completely understood the concept of setting intentions.
SECRET NO 8 ~ THE CHAKRA SYSTEMThe Endocrine System is the main support system for the
Chakra system and we now know that the ECS controls the endocrine system and
therefore the chakra system as well. Chakras
are not physical organs in our body but rather universal elements of
spirituality. It is no co-incidence that each of the seven main internal
chakras is naturally aligned to a ductless Endocrine gland.
By stimulating and
balancing the ECS and endocrine system we can open up our spiritual chakras, but,
ALL 7 chakras must be open at the same time for healing and meditation to take
place. In my opinion Cannabis is able to control all of
our bodily processes, through its interaction with all of our other
physiological systems including the chakra system. [22]
Why
is the chakra system so important?
By consuming Cannabis we
create expanded space for energy to flow freely in the chakras as well as in
the physical body; this clears blockages and effects healing. The balancing and
unblocking of chakras has been the ethos of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
for thousands of years. Even under Emperor Shen Neng (2737 BC) Cannabis was
first on the list of Chinese medicines amongst other conditions to treat gout,
malaria, rheumatism and forgetfulness.
This is why I believe that Eastern
herbalists have been healing with Cannabis for millennia, because they’ve
always known that Cannabis can help us to open and unblock our chakras and this
is a prerequisite of healing.
Herbal medicine often works better than man-made
drugs, because all plants work with our chakra system, but only Cannabis can
open our chakras up to vibrate to the frequency of 432 Hz which the frequency
of love, harmony, the earth and the human body, and of course Cannabis itself.
This is the frequency of balance, where healing, higher thinking, joy and
wisdom can take place.
Most people do not even know
that we have a chakra system, let alone where it is situated or what seals to
open or what colors to use in order to activate each chakra, in order to heal
ourselves. By learning to work with our chakras, we can enable ourselves to
access certain states of ecstasy, increased use of our brains, slowing down of
the ageing process and even experiencing ever-lasting life as some believe.
You
could say that our chakras are really just body parts we were never taught we
have. For a lot people the ECS is also just another body part we were never
told about.
SECRET NO 9 ~ AUTOPHAGY
Cannabis kills cancer cells
through more than one mechanism namely anti-angiogenesis, apoptosis and
autophagy. There are a few processes involved, starting with the boosting of
the ECS, the treating of inflammation and the strengthening of the immune
system.
Autophagy (pronounced
or-tof-o-gee) is a process involving
cellular destruction of unnecessary or dysfunctional cellular components and
mutant cells. This is how Cannabis helps us to get rid of damaged cells like
cancerous cells for instance.
Damaged organelles, cell membranes and proteins
are broken down and excreted, but there is no damage at all to healthy cells, unlike most
cancer-fighting drugs which kill off healthy and damaged cells. Both CBD and
THC are able to increase autophagy and thereby decrease tumor growth and progression.
[23-25]
Through the process of
autophagy the body can suppress the growth of tumors by preventing damaged
components of the cells to accumulate. These mutant cancerous cells are
dreadful and deadly because they have lost their ability to undergo another
process known as apoptosis.
This is programmed cell death, and this is the
reason that they don’t simply die and carry on multiplying. Cannabis induces
apoptosis and autophagy in cancer cells, through the healing powers of the cannabinoids,
terpenes, flavinoids, antioxidants and polyphenols contained within the plant.
Cannabis is the only known
botanical that is capable of inducing autophagy
Cannabis induces the
biological process of autophagy through the mechanism that is now famously
known as ‘the munchies’. The only other real way to induce autophagy is to
teach the patient how to fast by withholding food and forcing the body into a
state of hunger. Cannabis does this quite successfully with the minimum of
effort for the patient.
Autophagy is not only useful
for preventing cancer formation but also for a number of other health benefits
for example resetting of the nervous and immune systems. There is no doubt that
autophagy is a therapeutic target to reverse many diseases including so called
‘auto-immune’ diseases as well as age-related degenerative conditions like
osteoporosis and arthritis and even dementia.
Restricting calories and
exercising intermittent or alternate-day fasting has so many benefits for
achieving great health.
One of the reasons why
Cannabis is able to induce autophagy is because of the presence of a terpene
known as D-limonene and together with Humulene, another
powerful Cannabis terpene, these form a major part of the cancer-defense system
of Cannabis because both together with the cannabinoids are able to trigger the
production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and this is what causes autophagy
and apoptosis to occur. [26-36]
The failure of the process of autophagy
is the main reason for on-going cell damage and cancer, and this is also what
speeds up the aging process. It seems obvious that we need to boost our systems
with Cannabis in order to maintain good health and longevity into our golden
years. [37]
We know that Cannabis can cure
cancer, and it is now a well-known scientific fact that Cannabis has
effectively killed all the different types of cancer cells that science has
tested to date. [38] There is now scientific proof that
the EC system is involved in the cellular death of human proximal tubular (HK2)
cells. [39]
These human kidney cells originate from the kidney
cells of the HK2 gene on the 2nd chromosome, and these cells are
required in the formation of tumors in most cancers and these cells cause renal
tubule hypertrophy (enlargement of cells).
Through the function of autophagy
and apoptosis our ECS is able to cause these cells to commit cellular suicide.
This is how Cannabis contributes to reducing hypertrophy throughout the body by
providing the supplements that our ECS needs to perform its functions. Every
single one of us needs a daily dose of Cannabis to sustain our health and the
fact that we have Cannabis receptors in our brains is proof that we are
literally wired to consume this plant. [40]
Looking to the future…
Doctors ask me all the time how
is it possible that they could have studied the human body for 7 years but
never have heard about the ECS?
For reasons that only the Babylon system will
ever over-stand, this vital information does not form part of the curriculum
served at medical schools. The people in charge of the medical system clearly
do not acknowledge or concern themselves with the ECS and further they clearly
do not believe that Cannabis has any medicinal properties and despite the
mountains of evidence they keep on insisting that ‘more research is needed’.
In
my opinion there is sufficient research, in fact Cannabis medicine is the most
researched of all medicines since the 90’s. What needs to happen now is that
Anandamide needs to be administered in human trials as this has unbelievably
still never been done. Even Professor Mechoulum does not have an explanation as
to why this is.
We know that with old age
comes the natural deterioration of cells, tissues, organs, memory and brain
function.
However, we also know that in Cannabis we have a plant confidante
that can offer us new brain cells, bodily and hormonal balance, cellular suicide
of mutant cancer cells, metabolic control, as well as pain relief, and can also
guarantee us a good night’s sleep.
All of this makes Cannabis the
perfect supplement to reverse age-related body and brain deterioration
We know that Cannabis helps us
to increase our uptake of vitamin D, which is crucial to preventing conditions
like Alzheimer’s and dementia, as well as cancer. We should realize that our
lifestyles could quite literally be killing us.
If you consider how our ancient
relatives lived longer and less stressful lives, then we can agree that for the
majority of people, their actual jobs are the number-one source of stress and
illness. There are even serious studies suggesting that ‘sitting is the new smoking’, and these studies prove that sitting
for too long, meaning up to six hours at a time continuously, can lead to early
death. [41]
I must keep going back to the
importance of sleep and it is my belief that human longevity is strongly
associated with healthy sleep patterns, and we know now how Cannabis makes us
sleep better.
If you think about it, there isn’t really a single problem that
lack of sleep does not make worse. The side-effects of missing out on sleep are
irritability, cognitive impairment, a decrease in sense of accuracy, memory
lapse or in some cases total loss of memory.
Lack of sleep can also lead to
decreased creativity, increased stress levels, headaches, aches and pains,
increased heart rate and high blood pressure. Lack of sleep will take its toll
on the immune system which could easily become suppressed.
The well documented
triumphs of Cannabis medicine are the reason why senior citizens are becoming
the fastest growing segment of Cannabis consumers and eventually the secret
will be out that Cannabis truly can offer humans longevity.
On a spiritual level Cannabis can help us to deal with our questions and fears about life, love, death, and transcending to the afterlife and beyond...
It is the psychoactive effects of THC
that can induce feelings of elation and relaxation in certain people, whereas
in others who have heavy hearts it can bring about feelings of paranoia and
fear.
Death is never easy, because we really don’t know much about it, but one
thing is for certain, death is always going to be part of life.
This is why it
is so important to address our spiritual health while we live. It is the
psychedelic properties of Cannabis, meaning THC and all of its analogues that
can help us to achieve such enlightenment.
THC can take us to levels of
consciousness we are not able to reach without psychedelics,
Enlightenment and spiritual
growth are what Cannabis can offer us by giving us all an increased feeling of
positivity. This is exactly why so many people use Cannabis as their sacrament.
Through
the consciousness of the Cannabis plant we can expand our own consciousness to
promote love and kindness in this world, which could quite possibly make
consciousness the new currency of the universe.
In my work I have witnessed the divine feminine qualities
of Cannabis, and I have seen how this plant can nurture humans and animals
through her healing abilities. I have also witnessed the divine masculine qualities of the male Cannabis plant and you can read about a fascinating story in the last chapter of my book.
Cannabis is a compassionate companion, and makes
us feel better by offering intense healing, intuition and sensitivity that one
would come to expect to receive from a human companion plant. [42-45]
