CAN CBD MAKE YOU HIGH?

Over the years ii have noticed that some patients treated with high CBD Cannabis Medicine have revealed to me that the medicine makes them feel high.

This caused me to investigate further the relationship between THC and CBD and how these two main Cannabinoids work in our bodies.

We know that there is no such thing as a ‘THC free’  or ‘CBD only’ medicine and as ii have written before even the creators of the Charlotte’s Web strain eventually had to admit that there was a percentage of THC present in the medicine.

What is the difference Between CBD and THC?

THC is the main psychoactive and the main pharmacological component of Cannabis and THC is only found in the Cannabis plant. THC is therefore the main agonist of the THC Receptors because it is the only Cannabinoid which actually binds with these receptors.

CBD is the main antagonist of the THC Receptors and this is how it is able to help people with things like anxiety, depression, pain, epilepsy, insomnia and so on.

While CBD may not be able to bind with the THC Receptors it most certainly can bind to the Serotonin receptors and this is exactly how CBD produces its anti-anxiety effects.

CBD can also bind to Vanilloid receptors and this is how it manifests it’s pain killing, anti-inflammatory and temperature control effects.

Together these two represent the plant version (Phyto Cannabinoids) of our own naturally produced Endocannabinoids Anandamide and 2-AG within our bodies.

They are similar on a molecular level and are often confused by scientists and patients alike, but the main difference is the way in which they interact at the THC Receptors.

So THC is the only Cannabinoid which actually binds with the CB1 & 2 receptors.  The others do interact but only THC has binding affinity.  This is why we have always called this system of receptors ‘The THC Receptors’ and a lot of scientists are starting to realise this.

CBD therefore does not bind with the receptors but what happens is that it has the ability to actually change the shape of the THC Receptors and this is how it minimises the psychedelic effects of THC. It changes the shape of the receptors so that only a limited amount of THC may pass.

This is why when working with natural whole herbal Cannabis THC only acts as a partial agonist of the CB1 and 2 receptors but synthetic THC acts as a FULL agonist hence the hectic side effects.

THC is ‘active’… meaning ‘psychedelically active’ and active because it binds to the THC Receptors CB1 & 2.

CBD is ‘inactive’ meaning it does not possess psychedelic properties and it does not bind to these receptors.

THC is found abundantly in the female Cannabis with the highest concentration in the flowers. CBD is found abundantly in the Hemp plant which contains less than 0.3% of THC. This is the legal marker for determining whether a plant is Hemp or not.

The way ii see things THC is responsible for the receptors and CBD is responsible for regulating the Endocannabinoids and there is evidence to prove that CBD can control when Endocannabinoids are broken down as well as increasing Endocannabinoid levels inside the body.

Where do THC and CBD come from?

Both share the same precursor or chemical parent being CBGA.

Because THC and CBD are so similar and so easy to synthesise, scientists first thought that CBD was the original precursor to THC. Even though scientists have been actively studying Cannabinoids for over 50 years this subject is still poorly understood.

Cannabinoid production starts when an enzyme causes geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid to combine and form CBGA. From here CBGA is converted to either CBG, THCA, CBDA or CBCA.

The different faces of THC

US Patent number US 20040143126 A1 gives some dramatic science lab scenes of how since 1966 mostly likely since the 40’s scientists have been successfully converting CBD extracted from Hemp plant material to THC.

Please take a look at the patent and also Gaoni and Mechoulam (1966, Tetrahedron 22: 1481-1488) where you will learn the teachings of their methods. There is an earlier paper from 1964 which also goes into great detail of the methods of converting CBD to THC in labs. Please be very careful with your experiments ii have heard such hectic stories of these dangerous chemical reactions in people’s pursuit of stronger THC.

“Clearly, as the cannabinoids are of potential medicinal value, improved methods of converting CBD to Δ⁹-THC or Δ⁸-THC are needed.” ~ Gaoni and Mechoulam 1964

So for me personally knowledge of this nature which has been around for 5 decades or longer just highlights the science of greed. One can easily see how in the future scientists and pharmaceutical companies would no longer be interested in working with the plant if they can simply create THC in the lab.

They are also able to create all the analogues of THC and you can take a look at Delta-1 to Delta-13-THC and discover all the different types of THC.

One can also see clearly why CBD is legal and not THC since they already know the chemistry of converting and have known this information for over 50 years and have not only been keeping the plant illegal but have also been hiding this vital information from the public. You can see how it is in the interest of babylon to keep THC illegal or highly regulated but definitely out of the reach of the people.

If you take a look at these methods you will notice that they involve a lot of acid and we now know that under acidic conditions CBD chemically cyclizes to THC.

What about stomach acid and CBD?

The only conclusion ii have ever been able to reason about patients ‘getting high’ from CBD medicines is that somewhere in the body there is a biosynthesis of CBD to THC and since discovering the above patent ii am now convinced that this happens in the stomach especially since Hydrochloric acid is so much stronger than the Sulphuric acid use d in labs.

After all in order to carry out these experiments the scientists would have had to have a basic idea of this metabolism which they no doubt would have identified while working with all those monkeys Professor Mechoulam manage to organize from his friend who worked at the zoo.

 As far as ii am concerned CBD and other Cannabinoids would eventually have to convert to THC in the body in order to induce binding affinity with the THC Receptors.

It is my theory that CBD is converted to Delta-5 THC in the gastric system where over 80% of our THC Receptors are located both CB 1 and 2.

Battle of the pharmaceutical companies…

The way things are heading right now with serious competition in the Cannabis industry already we can see this vibe of one company needing to convince the public that synthetic cannabinoids are better and safer than natural plant derived Cannabinoids. This is just one edge of the competitive angle and another is this very issue we are discussing here of CBD being converted to THC inside the body.

This can have serious implications for patients and people who consume CBD edibles especially those who have to take random drug tests at work.  A lot of doctors no longer feel comfortable prescribing CBD because it can lead to THC.

This little war between the drug companies is what actually led to the development of the transdermal CBD patch as it claims to not bypass the gastric system. So it seems topical applications are still safe…for now…

You can take a look at the papers ii have mentioned in my sources and then you can make your own mind up but as ii say for many years now ii have been investigating this issue and ii propose the theory that CBD does in fact convert to the component of Delta-5 THC which has hardly any psychedelic effects but in certain people there are reports of reaching a certain state of high. 

If Delta 5 THC was as psychoactive as Delta-9 THC this would be picked up through increased serum levels the THC breakdown metabolites found in urine. To me it makes perfect sense that Delta-5 THC is inactive and that only a small percentage of people actually experience any kind of ‘CBD high’. This is also why you will not find a THC result in a blood test after CBD administration. CBD naturally eases the psychedelic effects of THC so it would not make sense in the body for CBD to be converted to psychedelic Delta 9 or 8 THC although ii can think of a lot of people who would benefit if this were the case. 

The only way to convert CBD to psychedelic THC is synthetically using dangerous chemicals in a lab and ii cannot say how this THC affects the receptors but ii believe it is super potent.

So just because we cannot locate the breakdown metabolites in a urine test most certainly does not mean that bioconversion of CBD to THC in the gastric acid is not taking place because there is sufficient evidence to support this theory. The other thing is that a lot of these metabolites themselves have potent psychoactive effects. And to be completely honest the evidence is in the feeling and who are we to judge the feeling because those who feel it know it.

If you study the different analogues of THC you will realise that all of them are less than 50% in potency to Delta-9 THC the main psychoactive variable. Delta-8 THC is 50% less potent than Delta-9 THC and so it goes down in potency.

The pharmaceutical companies who feel threatened by this discovery issue statements like these:

 “We have enough data to be reassured that the acidic gastric environment during normal gastrointestinal transit DOES NOT “expose patients treated with oral CBD to levels of THC and other psychoactive cannabinoids that exceed the threshold for a physiological response”

You can see how nicely they choose their words and the public must be aware of the financial interest of each company in the published results of any study.

There are even a few human studies indicating that less than 1% of the total CBD ingested is excreted as THC in urine so even though it is happening in very small amounts this natural biosynthesis of CBD to THC is most definitely happening even though it is of little medical or practical significance right now.

No matter which way you look at it there is sufficient evidence to prove that there is a miniscule THC ‘exposure’ after CBD ingestion and either way the truth is that something really important has been discovered about oral CBD medicine.

Based on scientific papers ii have researched there is no doubt that the route of administration indeed affects the pharmacokinetics of CBD and this is exactly why high intra and inter subject variability is so common in humans and animals.

So can CBD make you feel high?

Over the years ii have tested a lot of different strains of Cannabis some claim to be high in THCA, CBN and then CBD so yes ii have smoked hemp and in all these experiences and ii am still learning…it seems certain that through Cannabis we can achieve ‘different highs’ or rather different levels of consciousness.

For example CBN is a serious couch caller and gives you a sedated effect which is brilliant for chronic pain and PTSD and depression.

CBD buds are like a strong herbal relaxant, kind of like a super potent version of chamomile, lavender and rosemary together, so the ‘high’ is completely different to a THC ‘high’.

CBD is all about relieving anxiety and stress so it very quickly halts the body’s response to excitability.

High CBD strains do not give you that agitated paranoia sometimes experienced with high THC strains. Nor do they produce the heavy sedating effects of CBN. It’s quite interesting that CBD also converts to CBN in gastric acid and this leads to misunderstandings as to whether the effects of conversion after CBD ingestion are in fact THC effects.

From what my patients tell me it feels like CBD’ fills’ their body and mind with clarity, focus and a sense of calm. A lot of people prefer to consume CBD during work hours to cope with stress and irritability. So yes there are people who enjoy recreational CBD for mental and physical relaxation and as an upbeat mood enhancer with no change in cognitive functions, similar to the effects of Sceletium.

A lot of people will have a lot to say about any ‘CBD high’ and ii have had this conversation many times about whether people are feeling high or simply feeling better and at the end of the day most people will agree that they are feeling better.

Cannabis eases any form of suffering and CBD is the known ingredient which eliminates anxiety, stress, depression, pain, inflammation, convulsions and so much more without the extreme psychedelic effects of Delta-8 or 9 THC.

So if you are having a stressful day ii highly recommend CBD medicine to help you take the edge off.

SUMMER TIME WITH CANNABIS

 Summer Time with Cannabis

Welcome to sunny summer time in South Africa…time to head off to the beach and get some well-deserved R & R after a hectic year.

It’s also time to work on your Vitamin D deficiency and ii can just remind you to check out Chapter 17 of my book Cannabis is The Human Companion Plant to learn how Cannabis can help us to absorb more Vitamin D.

It is a lie that the sun in moderation is bad for you…obviously if you sit in the midday sun for too long and depending on your skin type you could definitely burn your butt for sure but that is not what ii mean here.

To this day no scientific studies have ever proven that sunlight causes cancer in humans because this is not true. And in fact there is plenty of evidence to the contrary where over the years several studies have confirmed that appropriate sun exposure actually helps to prevent skin cancer and melanoma occurrence has been found to decrease with greater sun exposure, and can actually be increased by sunscreen products.

Sunlight does not cause skin cancer and in fact it is our best defense against cancer.

Before ii was diagnosed with breast ca in 1996 age 28 ii hardly ever went into the sun because ii was so afraid of damaging my fair skin. In my Vitamin D paper ii shared a funny story of how my oncologist taught me that ii needed to get the sun on the actual tissue in other words topless tanning.

Not to repeat the whole story ii had an incident with the police because a distant neighbour’s wife caught him checking me out with his binoculars and she called the police and they surprised me as they managed to get past my young children who were guarding the gate, looking for an explanation for my public indecency.

Next year ii will be 50 and besides my faith in The Most High ii can honestly tell you that there are 3 reasons why ii still live

Cannabis ~ Coconut Oil ~ Vitamin D

The most valuable lesson ii have learnt is that we absolutely need to get sunshine on our tummies because 80% of our immune system is found in the gut. Not only this, but around 80% of our Cannabinoid and Vitamin D receptors are also found in the gut. In fact ii can also share with you that these receptors we even have in our teeth pulp the start of the gastric tract in my opinion.

So yes ii am most definitely suggesting that everyone try and get as much sun this summer as possible.

Both Cannabis and coconut oil assist the body to increase uptake of Vitamin D. Very few people who consume Cannabis have Vitamin D deficiency.

If you do the research you will see that the majority of sun protection products in fact contain ingredients with serious health and safety concerns. Almost half of the 500 most popular products may actually increase the speed at which malignant cells develop and spread skin cancer because they contain carcinogenic agents which speed up tumor growth.

The unknown risk of sunglasses…

When you are wearing sunglasses you are basically telling the body that it is getting darker outside and that it no longer needs to produce Melanin.

The lack of Melanin during daylight sun exposure while wearing sunglasses will cause the UV-A portion of the UV light to enter the skin much more deeply than it normally would if you were not wearing sunglasses. The higher concentration of UV-A in the deeper parts of the skin due to the lack of Melanin causes cell mutation, which then leads to skin cancer. Melanin protects the skin against sun damage and skin cancer.

The natural contrast of light during the day and night that your body (and eyes) are exposed to helps assure healthy hormonal secretions and healthy sleep. Sunglasses inhibit this process. This is a scientific fact.

If your eyes are not consistently exposed to the various array of UV light, then your ability to adapt to light will diminish as well as your vision. This too is a scientific fact. 

So as you can see the sun is not so bad for us after all…neither is Cannabis or coconut oil…and surely you must find it strange that we have been told that all three are highly dangerous to our health. Its only in the past few years that the true benefits of coconut oil are being admitted because before for 60 years it was demonized around the world.

The Cannabis Circus

Welcome to the greatest show on Earth

Since my childhood ii have listening to people speaking about Cannabis legalisation and how much this plant can benefit people economically and medically.

Yes indeed even when ii was a teenager ii was super amped to save the world ii had the cure for cancer and  off ii went to Groote Schuur Hospital and the moment ii tried to open dialogue with neurosurgeons on the topic of the location of the THC Receptors ii literally got chased away by grown men… brain doctors no less.

So back in 1987 ii realised immediately that the people who rule the world are totally aware of the benefits of Cannabis and further that they were keeping this plant away from us for specific reasons.  The fact that ii was blessed to receive the teachings of Rastafari also helped me to develop a comprehension from a young age of exactly how the Babylon system operates and how they control every aspect of our lives including our minds.

So ii grew up believing that ‘legalisation’ is quite possibly the absolute worst thing that could happen to our beloved Holy Herb and even today ii do not support Cannabis regulation at all instead ii feel that people should educate themselves and find a reputable healer or even better grow and produce their own medicine as this is actually part of the healing process when working with Cannabis Medicine.

What is the value of Cannabis?

People have seriously been meditating for decades about making massive amounts of money from selling legal Cannabis products.  So ii have to ask what is a lot of money?  How much are we talking about here which might satisfy the individual need for wealth?

Thirty years ago we used to sell Cannabis for R1/gram “a rand a gram” used to be my mantra and most self-respecting growers were also doing this. Once we hit the millennium people were telling me that ii was crazy to believe that Cannabis can be sold at a rand a gram but in my heart ii truly believe that this should still be the mandatory monetary exchange if we were all free to grow our own and use it as a cash crop as intended by our Creator. 

Truly the prices some people are charging for smokeable Cannabis is just off the charts and what’s even more crazy is that people are paying these amounts.

At the end of the day this plant needs to carry no price tag and no premium and absolutely no profit in order to truly uplift mankind.  This is the consciousness of the Cannabis plant.

If the Babylon system is going to deny people the right to grow Cannabis in the privacy of their homes ii really see a rising of the people and then the ringmaster’s whistle will be heard throughout the nations and the circus will officially be open and this circus will arrive with no warning. It will simply be there when it was not there yesterday.

If this circus is allowed to continue then we can look forward one hell of a show. We will be forced to consume man made synthetic THC which in all likelihood probably doesn’t even come from a plant in the first place.

Laziness is first cousin to greed so you can already see this trend of being too lazy to even wait for the plants to grow so they take you straight to synthetic THC. This is why they want to eventually eradicate the plant so that no one can grow.  Crazy stories ii have heard been told of such plans and also plans to develop other drugs including THC drugs which can actually block the EC System or the THC Receptors.

So it comes as no surprise to realise that the biggest anti-Cannabis lobbyists are the Babylon system themselves. Big Pharma, the politicians, the churches, and other business industries who are putting themselves in famine fear coz they think if they will lose a few billion dollars they will starve.  This crazy train of thought is in reality already blocking the known potential abundance which Cannabis has to offer.

Who stands to lose the most?

People catching serious stress are those who own and operate industries like the tobacco industry, the beer and wine industry.

Some people see a close resemblance between wine and Cannabis almost like a religious revelation where people see wine as holy water the Christ blood so both have become a religious sacrament to many people.

The truth is that as people awaken spiritually they soon come to comprehend that alcohol makes a person vibrate at the lowest possible frequency and this is then evident in drunk people’s behaviour in general.  This is why they call it ‘spirits’ because it literally makes you unconscious.

Conscious people view Babylon with contempt and they consume news differently and are aware when they are being deceived by the system. Conscious people value experiences over materialism so this makes public Cannabis consumption unfamiliar today but in the future tomorrow it will be considered normal and what is considered ‘normal’ today like public consumption of alcohol will tomorrow be considered peculiar.

Now suddenly there is the threat of a legal alternative to alcohol and tobacco.  Here in South Africa Cannabis has been a threat to the beer industry for decades already.

So we can see how Cannabis is changing the economic playing field and we will see how the unconscious people will struggle with this transition which is inevitable. The people who sell poisonous products to us will have no choice but to switch over to Cannabis and their counterfeit cannabis products will also eventually be filtered out of the conscious health domain.

On the other hand the food and beverage industry must surely be smiling and clapping their hands in glee at the vision of profits to be made.

If you think Reefer Madness was crazy then ii think we will find some even more crazy stories in the future especially as Cannabis Laws begin to relax the people who oppose Cannabis Freedom will now really have to go out of their way to demonize this plant again.

Through main stream media you will hear all kinds of stories like the recent South African story about school kids putting Cannabis seeds in their Zambuc as lip treatment and then the report goes on to say that the kids eat the seeds to stay high during class.  Well this is just complete nonsense because the fruit of Cannabis does not possess enough THC to induce any psychedelic effect and this is because of the way THC works in the plant and this is a whole other chemistry lesson. So it is a complete lie designed to create fear through the use of Cannabis. And as one of my sisters stated in response if you really had to dig deep you would find that these students did not even exist.

It’s the same as those medical reports we see every other day on social media claiming that Cannabis causes psychosis and schizophrenia even though there are reams of reports from their own institutions claiming the opposite.

It’s a charlatan circus laden with hypocrisy…

The other day ii read a report about how Cannabis negatively affects teenage brains and when you go into the report they cite a study of 441 people between the ages of 22 and 35 so really you can see the deceit but you can also appreciate how easy it is to deceive people through the power of the media.

The Garden Circus…

The past 30 odd years of selective breeding has resulted in a much higher potency of THC as many breeders and growers aim to get the highest possible THC percentage. The problem with this is it may very well contribute to outbreeding another important key Cannabinoid CBD. Again this is another chemistry lesson but people in their quest of self-interest do not even realise what they are actually doing through their actions.

Cannabis prohibition has its roots in racism, fraud and greed and now before our very eyes we are witnessing the rise of Cannabis greed through profiteering. And if you look closely you must take note of what the faces of the main profiteers look like and you will see that they are white and male while black men and women continue to be incarcerated for small amounts of Cannabis.

It is atrocious that white men have been sending downtrodden black youths to prison and destroying their families and futures for selling Cannabis and now white men plan to get rich by doing exactly the same thing.

So here in Africa if this is going to become a system where you can actually break it down and work out from the beginning who will make profit and who will go to prison then ii can assure you that the people here will become filled with fire and rise above this evil greed.

This is exactly why ii don’t support legalisation which is only going to benefit those who previously benefited from putting my people behind bars. So around the world countries which legalise seem to have this idea that they can make money from both Cannabis and from the prison system by changing their laws to prevent the people from having contact with the actual plant.

It is not the Cannabis which is making the people greedy. It is that thing inside humans which sees profit as survival and it is the same thing inside people which prevents them from realising that the profit system means survival at the expense of another person and they see nothing wrong with this. 

So exploitation and arrogant self- interest driven by the ego becomes the star show in the Circus of Cannabis Cheats and Con artists.

Through the consciousness of the Cannabis plant we must unlearn greed and relearn how to share. And while we are busy we should relearn how to use our brains and think for ourselves once again.

Sharing means taking of your time and energy to teach people how to grow and produce their own medicine at the least possible expense.  Of course not everyone is a gardener by nature so there will naturally always be a need for dispensaries. But truly if Babylon continue to rob my people then really ii can see no other way than for Cannabis to go deeper underground and become more controlled by the gangsters and drug lords.

Cannabis crimes are a reality and there are so many people who are more than happy to watch you grow and then happily harvest on your behalf so you can literally wake one morning and find that you have no more plants.  If Babylon are going to insist on taking this plant away from the people ii can tell you now that there will be a massive increase in Cannabis theft from licenced grow operations despite all their high tech security requirements published by the MCC earlier this year and again in November.

Cannabis is for the healing of the nations and not for the lining of the gluttonous greedy pockets attached to the people who think they own the Earth. These people think that they will just get richer while other people usually poor and downtrodden people will continue to go to prison for growing the plant. 

It is blatantly clear that Cannabis legalisation has nothing to do with uplifting indigenous people in the rural lands. This trend of mostly white people being able to afford the licences and all the other costly conditions thus denying and prejudicing others who cannot qualify for a loan to obtain such licence and install all the requirements.

The absolute show stopper of this circus is the total lack of provision to release Cannabis inmates most of which are people of colour. Any person in prison for Cannabis is completely wrong.  Is it really possible that while our highest court in the land is addressing legalisation and the pharmaceutical industry are busy taking over that people arrested for small amounts of Cannabis must still sit inside while others are walking free?  This is such a burning issue for me and it seems no matter who ii speak with ii cannot muster support.  Even my own Brethren have told me that ii must humble as this is not the work for the sister but yet my people are still suffering in prison when ii could be doing prison visits and encouraging people to take responsibility for their own freedom if they are aware of their rights.

Just as water cannot sink a ship unless it gets into the ship negativity cannot affect you unless you allow it to get inside of you. And while we do not wish to throw shade on the light because we have been denied this light for so long we do have a responsibility to fight unjust laws. We have a responsibility to serve our communities, to speak truth to power in their courts and to hold governments liable for their political policies and their votes.

WHY DO THEY NOT WANT US TO GROW CANNABIS?

Why do they not want us to grow Cannabis?

People have been asking me for decades whether ii believe that Cannabis will ever be legal and ii always say “NO”.

The absolute arrogance of our so called leaders, the people we look up to for protection. They capture the Holy Herb, declare it illegal for almost 100 years and then take it and alter it in laboratories to produce synthetic THC and CBD products to sell to us while the actual plant remains illegal even in the privacy of our homes.

Here in South Africa we are blessed to have a few high profile court cases in the High Court’s awaiting judgement. And while we wait for March 2018 for such outcomes ii highly suspect that we are really just waiting for our parliament to pass The Medical Innovation Bill which will basically give the plant to the pharmaceutical industry on a silver tray although ii am told that this bill is dead now so we shall see and also we look with interest to Canada as they too have taken Cannabis to the court room.

But what about the people who simply would not be able to legally afford these ‘legal Cannabis drugs’?

These are the same poor and downtrodden people who dwell in informal settlements and in the rural areas of our country. People such as myself. We have 17 million people on our social grant scheme so basically this medicine will really only be available to the stinking rich and the people who have medical insurance cover and of course those brave people who will continue to grow and take the risk of being imprisoned for cultivating their own medicine at home.

As ii always say this is Africa…things will definitely have to work differently here and we will see how the highest Court of our land will handle the people’s request to grow Cannabis in the privacy of the home.  Already on 31 March 2017 Judge Dennis Davis of The Western Cape High Court has ruled that this aspect of our prohibition laws is unconstitutional and this ruling has now been to The Johannesburg Constitutional Court on 7 November and now we wait…

As Ras Garreth Prince has stated in court many times Cannabis was living on African soil long before the colonialists arrived and if anything this plant belongs to the Khoi San people and this is exactly why King Adam Kok V leader of the Griqua Nation and the Auni San People has put his own appeal in to the Constitutional Court to safe guard the plant for the people.

Traditional Healers from all walks unite

We have another very powerful ally in our fight against Cannabis exclusion. The Traditional Healers Organisation (TH0).

The message is clear our Traditional Healers of South Africa want free access to Cannabis which they have also been using for generations to heal the nations.

Despite 23 years of democratic freedom in South Africa we still have an oppressed minority group in our country. Followers of Rastafari have been persecuted for generations for our religious and spiritual use of Cannabis which is our sacred sacrament.

Ask yourself why so many Rastafari Brothers are missing their middle teeth? Too many times in prison ii have personally seen how they grab my Brothers and smash their faces between the cell bars and this is how many of them have lost their teeth…for what ii ask you? For a plant? For praying to His Majesty? My first arrest for Cannabis and my faith was in 1981 at age 12 years.

This abuse continues in our land with around 1000 Cannabis arrests daily and this is why my most burning issue is the immediate release of all Cannabis inmates and in fact Ras Garreth Prince has asked the Constitutional Court for a moratorium on this matter.

Just before the 1994 elections the ANC targeted Rastafari for their votes and many false freedoms were promised in respect of our spiritual use of Cannabis.

The unity witnessed between the Traditional Healers and the Rastafari Community is a brilliant display of what we call “African Inity” in that both communities yearn for a deeper connection to their ancestral lineage and a desperate desire to observe cultural customs.

It is indeed an honour for me to be aligned with both groups as my Master Brother Judah who is a Xhosa insisted that ii walk the ‘twasa’ path with the Eastern Cape Sangomas instead of going up the mountain with the Sakmanne in Western Cape. To this day ii give thanks to The Most High for blessing me so high with this privilege.

This cultural fusion aims to re-establish the traditional philosophy of healing and preservation of indigenous knowledge especially in the rural areas and the townships and ghettos.

Together Rastafari Bush Doctors and Herbswomen, Sangomas, Inyangas and Igqirha’s we are all major players in the informal trade of medicinal plants throughout our country and millions of people depend upon our collective ancient healing knowledge. Wherever ii go in this country ii am asked for Cannabis from locals and tourists alike.

Such ancient traditional healing knowledge has always been underground and understudied. Generations of apprenticeship in learning from our Elders who in turn learnt from the ancient Khoi San practices which we all carry forward to this day.

Truly the medical world should respect us traditional healers for bring Cannabis Medicine to the people in the first place all the while being arrested for carrying out this ancestral duty.

So we must never overlook the strong ties of both socio-culturally distinct groups to the Khoi San people. What ii have learnt in my field training is that both Sangoma and Rastafari Bush Doctor/Herbswomen use divine powers to heal and this is how we are able to ‘see’ disease and this is also what makes us such powerful allies because we share an overstanding of the true meaning of the healing of the nations.

What is happening overseas right now?

Well in America the arrogance has matured to a whole new level with the DEA (Federal Law) having now rescheduled the synthetic THC product Dronabinol. 

This is the same man-made THC medicine which is already on South African soil and has been for some time.

So this product has now been rescheduled to Schedule II and they snuck this little law through the day before Thanksgiving last week when everyone was too distracted with eating and shopping the next day to even notice.  

Remember ii always tell you “Sin gets its power from the law” (1 Corinthians 15 verse 56).  This is what these people do they keep the people distracted and pass their evil laws and this is exactly what they will try to do everywhere to keep this plant away from the people.

Take note of their wording of total control in this statement:

“[I]t should be noted as a preliminary matter that any form of dronabinol other than in an FDA-approved drug product remains a schedule I controlled substance, and those who handle such material remain subject to the regulatory controls, and administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions, applicable to schedule I controlled substances set forth in the CSA and DEA regulations.”

Honestly sometimes ii simply can’t find the words to describe how ii feel for the actions of these people. So the plant and any other Cannabis medicine not made by Babylon remains Schedule 1 meaning ‘extremely dangerous with no medicinal value’ and illegal.

This kind of law gives the pharmaceutical industry total freedom to control pricing for their privately authorised brand of THC and ii understand that the pricing will be anything from $1000 to $2000 dollars per monthly prescriptions.

The average person in South Africa would not even be able to afford R2000 per month.

Even though they received criticism which highlighted the hypocrisy of legalising synthetic THC to be prescribed by doctors while ordinary people will stand the risk of being thrown into prison for trying to grow and produce their own medicine at home…they still passed the bill anyway.

Do you accept the gluttonous greed of your government to infringe on your right to decide what you put into your body?

Do you accept being forced to consume a dangerous man made version of a perfectly natural plant which you can grow for free in your backyard?

Laws like this also totally overlook the numerous studies which have been conducted world-wide even in the US at some highly respected institutions which prove that whole herbal Cannabis does in fact have medicinal value.

The pharmaceutical industry is notorious for putting profit above patient care.  They are also notorious for bribing doctors in exchange for prescriptions to increase sales.  They intentionally withhold vital product information from doctors, patients and insurers.

So the intention seems set to legalize the chemical components of Cannabis before the actual plant if ever to ensure they capture the entire market and secure sales.

So what about the actual plant?

Man-made synthetic THC and CBD products are referred to as ‘drugs’ and the whole herbal natural plant which grows in the ground is a herb.

There are a lot of scientists, especially those who actually discovered THC and CBD, who do not wholly approve of ‘single-Cannabinoid’ drugs and instead conform to the “Entourage Effect” which concerns the full spectrum of Cannabis extract from whole herbal plant material.

It has already been proven over and over that the various Cannabinoids, terpenes and other chemical components of the Cannabis plant work together in a natural synergy which complements and enhances all the actions and effects of the different chemical elements. It is also a scientific fact that a lot of the components of Cannabis would not occur or would cease to exist in the absence of some of the more well- known Cannabinoids for example THC and CBD.

So while we are awaiting the commercial debut of Cannabis drugs we must accept that none of these products contain the full plant profile and to be honest ii highly doubt that any of these so called approved synthetic Cannabis products even came from plant material in the first place.

As it stands now in the US we are reading reports that ‘big pharma’ stand to lose in excess of $4 billion which is nothing compared to say Pfizer’s already $53 billion stake in the Cannabis Medicine industry.

So these people live in famine fear that Cannabis Medicine will overtake opiates, anti-depressants, anti-epileptics…well all of their conventional treatments really…so the very last thing they can afford is for people to now start producing their own Cannabis Medicine and the only way to secure this is by lobbying for unfair Cannabis laws like the ones which persecute people for growing the plant in their backyard.

They also do not want the people to consume the natural plant because it works differently on our THC Receptors than their synthetic man-made THC products.

The natural herb will not only heal you without any side effects but it will also open your chakras and open all three of your eyes to the deceit on the planet. This is how the plant works and this is a definite ‘no-no’ for the people who are trying to control all of us by dumbing us down with their fake foods, water, vaccines and medications which have dangerous and often deathly side effects. But these are all legal and we are encouraged to consume as much as possible.

But it seems that under no circumstances will they allow us to grow our own because truly without prejudice or admission of ingratitude a limit of say 2 or 3 plants per household is simply not going to help anyone to make a decent amount of medicine and they know this very well. Make no mistake.

My chemistry studies reveal that since the 1960's scientists have been converting CBD from Hemp into THC in their labs so as far as ii can see scientists and corporations like Monsanto have plans to produce synthetic Cannabis medicine without even growing a plant and charging top premium to further control the pharmaceutical industry and they will be allowed to this through the law.

Money is their god and for me personally Cannabis is the feminine face of God highlighting the protecting and nurturing character of the Holy Herb and the only laws which ii will follow are the laws of His Majesty.
