Cannabis and addiction

People should not be going to ‘rehab’ for Cannabis…They should be given Cannabis in rehab…

Looking to the future it is going to be a wake-up call for many drug rehabilitation centres who continue to condemn Cannabis medicine, when they realise that THCV is being investigated and administered for the treatment of various addictions for example those caused by drugs and alcohol. THCV not only interacts with the Cannabinoid receptors but also with our other receptors, and this is what makes it such a worthy study in drug and alcohol addiction, as well as the treatment of schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease.

In the future, people will have to accept that a “drug” scheduled as dangerous, such as Cannabis, will most definitely turn out to be the key element to curing so many of the addictions that are plaguing our society right now  like nicotine, alcohol, crystal meth and the ever- increasing opiate problem. It seems certain that in the future we will have ‘high THCV’ medicines available in the same way as we now have ‘high CBD’ medicines. We have always known that Cannabis is the best treatment for any chemical addiction because of the way the plant works on the different receptor systems.  [128] (Halim, 2019)

One of the reasons that rehabilitation centres have such high relapse ratios is that they seem to completely ignore the driving dynamics of addiction, and tend to treat only the symptoms, because they pay attention only to the effects of addiction. There are even human studies that prove that THCV, CBD and THC, all of the Cannabinoids and terpenes work together for effective healing of all kinds of addiction conditions. So while Cannabis has always been painted as a highly addictive substance, the complete opposite is fast becoming scientific truth. [129] (BECKETT, 2017 )
