Chapter 1 Sin gets its power from the law by Sister Vee
Nohombile
“Most
governments want people to think that they are acting in the best interests of
the people in their law making decisions. For example the new anti-cigarette
smoking laws in my country which could see people being arrested and imprisoned
for up to 3 months in South Africa. Public spaces and restaurants will now be
taboo for puffing.
Look
ii have never been a fan of any poisonous tobacco products which do kill people
but ii can guarantee you that this new law will masquerade as a public health
concern for one wicked habit in order to suppress the most effective delivery
method of the most powerful healing plant. In my opinion this has absolutely nothing
to do with protecting people from cigarette smoking but has everything to do
with giving doctors the power to avoid prescribing Cannabis as an
inhalant….thus forcing synthetic cannabinoid products on the people. This is
another medical cover up waiting to control the emerging African Cannabis
medicine industry by its hungry profit driven captors.
A
lot of people feel that this is so ludicrous that it’s possibly fake news
however as funny as it might sound that our government plans to imprison cigarette
smokers this law has been in the pipe line since 2002 and ii really believe
that the reason we are waiting so long for the High Court ruling on personal
adult Cannabis consumption here in South Africa is because they are waiting to
push this new cigarette law through first. This will take the burden off giving
the people recreational Cannabis smoking freedom in public spaces. It is
completely ludicrous because smoking Cannabis is still healthier than not
smoking at all. People have been arrested for a harmless plant for almost 100
years now so personally ii do believe that this new law will be strictly
enforced simply because it is so easy to enforce and get convictions. In the
future ordinary people can also now look forward to the possibility to experience
what it feels like to be locked in jail for smoking a banned substance and not
only so called ‘pot heads’.
When
it comes to laws we have to realise that all of these laws for example laws
pertaining to alcohol and tobacco were never inspired in the interest of public
health but rather in commercial concern. It also would not surprise me in the
least if our government also changes the legal alcohol age limit to 21 instead
of 18 years old before they consider amending Cannabis laws. They would do this
with the intention of actually controlling Cannabis since we are requesting
that new Cannabis laws should reflect the laws which govern alcohol. And
definitely the Cannabis laws cannot be harsher or stricter than the booze laws
because we have now proven in the courts through the Trial of the Plant that
alcohol and tobacco are more harmful than Cannabis.
So
looking to the future patients who are used to smoking for medicinal purposes
will most likely find very little benefit in some synthetic cannabis products.
You can see how this uncovers a potential turning point for the way in which
the world thinks about Cannabis medicine. Patients who prefer to puff also
mostly report that it is easier to control the individual dosage through
smoking because the effects are instant, whereas with ingestion the effects can
take hours to ‘kick in’ where for most common ailments like insomnia, nausea,
pain, menstrual problems, blood pressure, stress, anxiety and so on just a few
puffs is usually enough to solve most problems.
You
don’t need a high IQ to realise that if Cannabis was freely available to the
ordinary person in the street that in fact the pharmaceutical industry would
stand a very good chance of shrinking.”
